The U.S. Marine Raider stiletto was similar to the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife. The knife was designed in 1942 and officially issued on a selective basis to the Marines, with priority to elite units such as the Raiders. Camillus produced 14,370 of these knives, a small number compared to the 2.5 million M3 knives issued. This one has seen much use in the field. The zinc-aluminum grip on this example was cracked, a common problem with these, and has been professionally stabilized (no new pieces added). The scabbard is the original and is showing use and wear. A rare knife that is priced very fairly.
