This is definitely a rarity, both knapsack and haversack named to the same Marine, Corporal Robert N. Fischer, Jr.  Fischer was part of the engineer company of the 8th field depot which was part of the 5th Amphibious Corps at Iwo Jima.  The muster rolls indicate that Fischer boarded the attack transport USS Muliphen at Pearl Harbor which disembarked troops and supplies starting on Feb. 19, 1945, the day of the Iwo invasion.

Both packs were made by Boyt with haversack dated 1943 and knapsack dated 42.  The name in same stencil in red paint on both pieces.  All straps are intact with the only issue I can see is some gray paint splotches on lower pack.
