An original, named, WWII USMC dress green jacket.  It is named to Corporal Ralph E. Paluska, a rifleman in the 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division.  Paluska enlisted in late 1943 and was part of the 2nd Division in time for the Marianas campaign. The first objective for the 5th Amphibious Corps was the Island of Saipan.  The 2nd Division and 4th Division stormed the landing beaches on June 15, 1944.  Paluska would have participated in the landings and the entire battle until receiving a gunshot wound to the area around the left eye.  The records indicate he was treated and released back to duty.  Corporal Paluska was a native of Peoria, IL.
