This is a very good condition blade marked UTICA M3 fighting knife with M8 scabbard. This example has the 8- groove leather grip. Staked pommel has Ordnance Bomb stamping. The blade has a medium gray parkerized finish and is marked “U.S. M3 – UTICA”. Correct short belt loop M8 scabbard without metal belt hanger, marked “U S M 8 / B.M. CO.” which is Beckwith Mfg. Co. Utica was a prime manufacturer with production of 656,620 M3’s produced.
Condition is overall very good. Blade retains much of the original medium gray parkerized finish with only high point scabbard drag wear. Grip is very good just showing expected age and light use wear. The factory sharpening line is visible to edge of blade. Scabbard is very nice with nearly 100% origianl OD paint remaining. Belt loop shows some age and wear but no damage.
