In January 1943, the first “Special,” designated as 45C, was approved. It was similar to the 45B but included a gas flap and buttons under the collar’s rear for an anti-gas hood. By March 1943, it was superseded by the 45D, which eliminated the shoulder yoke. This version was produced until the end of the war in both OD8 and OD7 colors. This example is the 45D .

The jacket is in excellent condition retaining the deep green OD7 color and 99% of the black paint on the metal 13-star buttons. Size is 40R. The QM tag is washed out, so the jacket has been laundered at least once.  There are no stains, holes or wear marks on the jacket, and it is almost certainly unissued. It would be difficult to upgrade unless it had the cutter tags still attached.
