This is an inert WWII fragmentation grenade with Kodak M10A3 fuse. It has the original olive drab paint with yellow stripe around the top. The fuse has black paint on lower area of spoon which indicates that it was reinspected after the war. There is an approximately 3/8-inch hole drilled in bottom of grenade which does not have paint overspray inside so I would guess this was part of the deactivation process. A nice condition and iconic piece of WWII history.
The standard issue anti-personnel grenade used during World War II, manufactured of cast iron with a grooved surface divided into 40 knobs in five rows of eight columns which was intended to enhance fragmentation.
