A fine condition M1872 officer’s forage cap. The cap consists of a dark blue wool body with patent leather visor and narrow leather chinstrap held in place by two general staff buttons. The interior has black polished lining with retailer’s logo “INTRODUCERS OF THE LATEST STYLES“. The sweatband is of very soft and of fine leather, it is complete but has two separations on left side.
Condition is excellent with dark blue wool body with no insect damage. Buttons retain most of the gilt finish. Leather bill is still tightly attached and chinstrap is complete.
