A very nice set of dress greens for a 3rd Division Pfc. Both coat and pants are named to B Sinclair. From extensive research of the Marine Corps muster rolls this can be pinpointed to Dudley Blair Sinclair. This was a difficult ID because the last name is spelled with an “E” at end of name while Blair Sinclair is spelled without the “E”. I believe that during issue the last name was written in by the person issuing uniforms and unintentionally misspelled. Another clue lies in the “4/6” written with same ink which would indicate issue of piece 4 of 6. Pfc Sinclair also listed his name as Blair in the 1940 census. There are really no other Marines that fit the bill of having been a Pfc in the 3rd division with the name B. Sinclair.
Sinclair served in the 2nd Battalion, 21st Marines as a demolition specialist and participating in the Iwo Jima campaign.
Condition of both coat and pants is overall excellent to near mint. (Shirt and tie not included)
