An M1917 “rough cut” wool enlisted coat in exceptional condition, featuring a super rare bullion 79th Division patch. The soldier served in the ambulance corps, denoted by the caduceus on the right sleeve. It includes a US National Army and medical collar discs. The left sleeve displays a bullion service stripe and a discharge stripe. The coat’s interior is unlined, and all buttons are original, matching, and attached with the original thread. The coat’s condition is very fine, with no signs of insect damage, stains, or significant wear.

The 79th Division sailed overseas in July 1918 seeing extensive combat in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive area.  Throughout its entire World War I campaign, the division suffered 6,874 casualties with 1,151 killed and 5,723 wounded.
