Mid-war U.S. M1 front seam, swivel bail helmet indicating manufacture prior to 1945. The helmet with the exterior textured in cork and bearing a white-painted lieutenant’s single-bar rank insignia at the front center. The heat stamp ‘22A’ over ‘S’ on the inside front skirt identifies it as produced by Schlueter. The complete chinstrap has the flat brass clasp. Helmet is accompanied by its correct wartime Westinghouse liner. Exterior front of liner has remnants of white tape and some letters and numbers are visible. Chinstrap is missing.
A great helmet that has the “been there” look.
