SPAN-AM to WWI US NAVAL OFFICER’S HAT

This is an early US Navy officer’s dress hat. Superb USN cap badge with silver bullion eagle, brass anchors with gilt bullion overlay and a coin silver shield which is highlighted in silver bullion.  My feeling is that this one dates to the era of The Great White Fleet, 1909 to maybe 1912 time frame.  The hat is in very good condition with no evidence of mothing or other damage. Good color to the very high-grade wool body.  A great hat from a time period that not many artifacts are available.
