This is a McCord shell in excellent condition. The heat number 637C is clearly legible, indicating manufacture during fall of 1943. The original exterior paint is very good with just minor wear and light surface scratches. The original OD3 chinstrap is present and has a name printed on it. The liner is a “Mine Safety Appliances”. The exterior paint is the early non-textured type which has mostly flaked away. The interior suspension is complete, showing field use and stains to sweat band. The chinstrap is present but is broken. This is a high-grade helmet with a fairly scarce liner that shows wartime use but no abuse.
