The USMC P44 cap, standardized in September 1944 as part of the U.S. Marine Corps uniform during World War II, was based on the 1941 U.S. Army HBT cap but adapted with pleats around the crown to accommodate the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor (EGA) emblem on the front. Designed for service in the Pacific Theater, it utilized HBT cotton fabric, well-suited to the hot, humid, and rugged conditions faced by Marines.
Cap is in outstanding original condition with bold EGA. The cap was most likely issued as there is light staining on sweatband and QM tag has been cut.
